Are you ready to stay with jesus
On What Conditions Are You Willing to Stay With Jesus? 🙌

John 6:66–71 📖

📜 Bible Passage

66 From this time many of His disciples turned back and no longer followed Him.
67 Then Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69 We have come to believe and to know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve? Yet one of you is a devil.”
71 He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.

🌍 Many Christians… as long as it’s comfortable

The number of Christians has shifted throughout the centuries. When faith is popular, when church culture is socially welcomed, emotionally uplifting, and full of community — many people are eager to call themselves believers. But when difficulties come, when there is mockery, persecution, division, or spiritual dryness — attendance drops sharply.

God does not become weaker during church crises. Hard times simply reveal the true motives of the heart.

👣 Jesus had many disciples, but only twelve remained

Jesus taught with depth, healed the sick, performed miracles, fed the crowds, and inspired thousands. As long as things were pleasant and understandable, people gladly followed Him. But when He spoke words they didn’t like or couldn’t fully understand, many turned away.

In a crisis, the easiest thing to do is to walk away. That is exactly what happened.

But the Twelve stayed. Jesus even asked them: “Do you also want to go away?” He didn’t force anyone, didn’t bargain, didn’t try to keep them by pressure. He always gives freedom of choice.

🔑 Why didn’t the Twelve leave?

Because they understood: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

Peter didn’t say, “We understand everything.”
He said, “We understand Who You are.”

This is true faith: not always understanding every detail, but trusting Jesus because only He gives eternal life.

❓ On what conditions do you hold on to Christ?

Why do you stay in the church?
Is it because your friends are there?
Because it’s comforting?
Because you receive help?
Because the music is good and the sermons are clear?
Because someone encourages you to attend?
Because you’re not persecuted for your faith yet?
Because it’s familiar and convenient?

What are your conditions for following Jesus?
Or are you willing to stay with Him without conditions?

❤️ Are you ready to say to Christ…

“I am with You no matter what happens.
I have nowhere else to go.
Even if the crowd walks away — I will stay with You.
You have the words of eternal life.
And I have believed and come to know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
