155. John 16:25-28 – The Mission of Jesus

🎯 The Mission of Jesus

📖 John 16:25–28

25. “These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.
26. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you;
27. for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
28. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

🎯 The Core of the Mission

John 16:28 is a concise summary of the entire life of Christ. In one sentence, Jesus reveals His path: from the Father → into the world → back to the Father. This is not random or accidental, but a clear plan carried out to completion.

⬇️ From the Father

“I came forth from the Father” — Jesus is not just a man who began His existence on earth. He came from eternity, from God Himself. His mission began before His birth, and He fully knew who He was and where He came from.

🌍 Into the World

“And have come into the world” — Christ entered our reality: pain, sin, injustice, and rejection. He did not remain distant, but became part of human life. This is a mission of love — God came near to people.

⚔️ Completion

“I leave the world” — this is not escape, but mission accomplished. Behind these words stand the cross, suffering, and sacrifice. Jesus finished His mission and left not as one defeated, but as the Victor.

⬆️ To the Father

“And go to the Father” — a return to glory. Christ returns to the Father as the One who completed the work of salvation. This confirms that His mission was accepted and fulfilled.

❤️ The Father’s Love

Jesus emphasizes an important truth: “the Father Himself loves you” (v. 27). His mission was not to convince God to love people, but to reveal the love that already existed.

💡 For Us

The mission of Jesus shows that God acts with purpose, salvation is already accomplished, and every person is valuable in His eyes. Yet each one must respond personally — to accept or reject Christ.

🔥 Conclusion

Jesus came from the Father, fulfilled His mission in the world, and returned to the Father, fully completing the work of salvation.

👉 He did everything. Now the choice is yours.
