86. John 8:31-32 – Know the Truth
Know the Truth
John 8:31–32
Bible Text
31. Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed Him, “If you remain in My word, you are truly My disciples,
32. and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Short Explanation
Jesus says these words to people who already believe in Him. He shows that faith is not the finish line, but the beginning of the journey.
He points to three connected steps:
remain → know → be free
Remain in the word
This is more than reading. It means staying in Jesus’ word, coming back to it, and letting it shape your life.
Know the truth
Truth is something we learn and check, not something we accept without thinking or “because someone said so.”
Be free
Freedom is not doing whatever we want. It is being freed from lies, mistakes, and things that hold us inside.
Short Conclusion
Freedom does not come from how much we know, but from understanding the truth correctly. That is why we carefully study God’s word and check our understanding.
One way to do this is the QA Bible Study Method, which is explained in the main article.
